Travel-considered

Front trouser pocket, inside jacket pocket, top of the SOLTA passport bifold — none of which it bulges out of.

Single panel, folded once. No seam runs across the spine — which is the part that fails first on every other card holder. The leather is its own lining; the edges are burnished six times so the gloss carries through a decade of pocket friction. Slips in and out of a front trouser pocket without catching.

What it carries — comfortably

Built for the things you actually pack.

The provenance, in three pieces

Three regions of Italy, three trusted houses, one piece.

Leather — Tuscany

Conceria Walpier

Buttero saddle hide, vegetable-tanned over forty days in oak and chestnut bark. The same tannery has been working the Arno since 1947; the same hide stiffens, then softens, then darkens with the years.

Hardware — Veneto

Vicenza brass

Solid brass, sand-cast and brushed to a satin gold finish in a four-person workshop outside Vicenza. No plating — so it patinas rather than peels.

Lining — Lombardia

Como cotton twill

A heavy oat twill woven on the same looms that supply the Milanese tailoring houses. Removable, washable, replaceable — included spare, sent with every piece.

Questions, answered plainly

The fine print, in the open.

How long does the leather take to break in?

Three or four trips. Buttero starts firm — that's what holds the shape — then softens around the things you carry. After a year it will have darkened roughly half a tone and started to show the marks of your travel. That is the point.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a barely damp cloth. Once a season, a thin coat of clear leather balm — we ship a small tin with every order. Do not use saddle soap, alcohol wipes, or anything labelled "leather cleaner" from a supermarket.

What if it breaks?

Post it back to Sorrento and we will repair it — re-stitching, re-burnishing edges, replacing hardware — for as long as the piece exists. Return shipping on us within the first five years; at cost after that. The atelier that made it is the atelier that fixes it.

Can I have it monogrammed?

Yes — up to four characters, blind-debossed. Free of charge. Add three working days to dispatch.

How does shipping work?

Posted from Sorrento by DHL Express, fully insured and tracked. Duties and import VAT are included in the price for the EU, UK, US, Switzerland, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, and Japan. 2–4 working days to most addresses.

What's the return policy?

30 days, unused, in the original Sorrento box. We refund in full including the outbound shipping. Monogrammed pieces are final sale.

Is it actually made in Italy?

Yes. Cut, stitched, edge-burnished and finished by a team of three in our Sorrento atelier. Every piece is signed and numbered against the run.
